Weight Loss Hilton Head
Our Weight Loss Clinic Hilton Head found the US Preventive Services Task Force stated that doctors needed to screen every patient for obesity in it’s June 25, 2012 recommendation to the public as well as healthcare professionals.
It also recommended this screening in it’s 2003 report as well, but they now recommend that doctors go one step further by referring their patients that are obese to intensive counseling that deals with weight loss. They also suggested that doctors should screen patient to identify those that may not currently be obese, but are at risk of becoming so due to such factors as unhealthy lifestyles, high blood pressure and cholesterol as well as being overweight and having chronic weight gain. They also recommend that doctor’s should focus on non-surgical options such as our Hilton Head Weight Loss Program. This program works by having the individual take a low dosage of hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) each day and following a specific diet. This will help the body rid itself of harmful fat that is stored and will keep the metabolism elevated.
The primary screening to determine if a patient is obese or at risk for obesity will be their BMI (Body Mass Index). Individuals with a BMI over 30 are considered obese. For those individuals that have a BMI from 25-29.9 and a waist that is over 35 inches for women and 40 inches for men they are considered overweight. Unfortunately, many doctors still do not council or screen patients when it comes to matters such as being overweight or obese despite the growing obesity epidemic in America. An article having to do with this study that was featured in US Today claims that 36% of America’s adults are currently obese. By 2030 this number is expected to rise to 42%. This article also included studies that indicated that a weight loss program that included 12-26 sessions can help an individual lose weight. It claimed that the programs that were most successful were the ones where the individual set goals, improved their diets, increased exercise and monitored their food intake in order to live a healthier lifestyle which is exactly what our Equilibrium HCG Weight Loss Clinic in Hilton Head offers. These programs are supposed to be able to help the individuals that participate in them to lose anywhere from 3-7 pounds of fat per week which can drastically reduce an individual’s health issues that may be related to obesity.
